About Curtis Disque
Curtis is a graduate from the University of Florida and Nova Southeastern Law School. He is a member in good standing with the Florida Bar and prior to becoming a Judge was Board Certified in Criminal Trial Law. Curtis is also a member of The Southern District of the United States District Court. He is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Law and Circuit Civil Mediator and a Florida Supreme Court Qualified Arbitrator. He mediates litigated matters including divorces, post judgment issues, paternity, civil, commercial, employment and worker’s compensation claims. He mediates pre-suit and voluntary mediations regarding any issues that have arisen between two sides.
After graduating Law School, Curtis became an Assistant State Attorney in the 19th Judicial Circuit. He then gained civil experience representing Insurance Companies. His career then took him to representing personal injury and worker’s compensation clients. He then opened the law firm, Disque & Schwab, P.A., and remained there for 12 years practicing in personal injury, worker's compensation and criminal defense. Curtis became a Judge with the 19th Judicial Circuit in 2011 and retired from that position in February of 2018.
